Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I think my well pump is going out. How can I tell?
A: Here are some of the ways you can tell if your pump is the culprit.
- Fluctuations in water pressure throughout the home.
- Strange noises or rapid clicking sounds coming from the tank.
- Spitting faucets.
- Scalding shower water.
- High electric bills.
Q: How do I know if my pressure tank has stopped working?
A: If you have a loss in water pressure or change in water quality it could be your pressure tank. A pressure tank is important because it keeps water pressure at a constant level. It also keeps the water and air separated. Without these features the water pump would turn on and off quickly – a problem caused cycling – which can quickly burn out the pump motor.
Q: Why should I get a storage tank?
A: The black or dark green color limits light penetration which reduces the growth of water-borne algae. Storage systems help when your well yields low amounts of water and your watering needs are more than your flow is able to handle.
